Marcelo Indio dos Reis holds a PhD in Information Systems and Technologies from the University of Minho, Portugal, with research focused on Explainable Artificial Intelligence applied to supply chain management. He also holds a Master’s degree in Informatics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. His professional background combines academic research, artificial intelligence, data science, and software development. As a researcher and data scientist at the ALGORITMI Center, he has worked on intelligent solutions involving Explainable AI, Big Data, Business Analytics, and Supply Chain Analytics, including projects related to digital transformation and advanced manufacturing. He also has extensive experience in software engineering, systems analysis, systems development coordination, and IT consulting in public-sector technology environments. Marcelo has significant experience in higher education, having taught undergraduate courses in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, and Systems Analysis and Development. His teaching areas include software engineering, programming, data structures, web development, distributed systems, decision support systems, databases, and final project supervision. His research and professional interests include Explainable Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, data science, software engineering, business analytics, and trustworthy intelligent systems.
