I am a research data scientist developing my PhD thesis at the ALGORITMI Center, University of Minho. My work focuses on creating machine learning and explainable AI (XAI) models for the industrial supply chain in Portugal. As a university professor, I have taught programming logic, data structures, software engineering, decision support systems, databases, and web development for 13 years. In addition, I have mentored countless students in their final projects. In parallel, my IT career has spanned roles as network administrator, software developer, development team coordinator, and software development contract manager at public safety institutions for 23 years. I have participated in important projects such as the creation of corporate intranets, downsizing projects, and the development of various corporate systems. My current research investigates Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI), focusing on the development of AI models and explanations. I explore the human aspect of XAI and evaluate its relevance in commercial contexts.
