Energy and Power Electronics (GEPE)

The GEPE main research fields are centred in the development of Power Electronics solutions, including full-design of hardware and software, from laboratorial prototypes to pre-industrial prototypes, for application into energy systems, namely: Power Quality Conditioners; Low-Cost Power Quality Monitoring Systems; On-grid and Off-grid Optimized Interfaces for Renewable Energy Systems; Hybrid Energy Storage Systems; Battery Charging and Traction Systems for Electric Mobility; Battery Management Systems; Power Electronics for Railway Systems; AC and DC Power Grids; Solid-State Transformers; Wireless Power Transfer; Power Electronics for Aerospace Applications; Smart Grids and Smart Cities.
