0About Me
Telmo Miguel Oliveira Adão currently holds the position of Assistant Researcher attached to the Vine&Wine project under the Portuguese Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, Vila Real, Portugal. He completed his Ph.D. in 2015 in Computer Graphics, specializing in Procedural Modeling. With 10 years of I&D experience as a fellow, he has participated in projects involving the areas of Virtual, Augmented, and Mixed Realities, procedural techniques for automatic or semi-automatic generation of virtual structures, Remote Sensing using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), Machine Learning, Digital Image Processing, Computer Vision, and IoT/Distributed Computing in the context of mulsemedia. His scientific work spans navigation outdoors, Human-Machine Interaction, Deep Learning in agriculture/forestry, push-media, and multipurpose multimedia applications. He recently became a collaborating researcher at ALGORITMI Center. He coordinated the CVIG (Computer Vision, Interaction, and Graphics) department of the Centre for Computer Graphics (CCG/zgdv) at the University of Minho, Portugal, for 2 years and 6 months. Over this period, he has assumed the leadership in 10 R&D projects, including 6 co-promotions, 1 Erasmus+ European project, and 3 national mobilizers. In terms of R&D publications, Telmo’s work includes 1 book composed of 8 chapters indexed in Scopus. He also edited a book of Proceedings published by Springer, Scopus-indexed. Additionally, he has authored 14 Scopus-indexed book chapters and has presented research in 38 conferences with indexed proceedings (ISI and/or Scopus). Telmo has also published 17 ISI and/or Scopus-indexed journal articles and has been recognized with 2 technical-scientific awards. He actively engages with the scientific community as a member of 11 review committees for specialized Scopus/WoS conferences and as a Chair of publications for a Scopus conference. He has served as a guest editor for Sensors/MDPI and is a member of the review board for the International Journal of Web Portals (IGI Global) and Journal of Game Studies (EnPress Journals). Telmo is also serving as a reviewer for prestigious journals such as Remote Sensing, Applied Sciences, Drones (MDPI), Virtual Reality (Springer), and Multimedia Tools and Applications (Springer). For over 6 years, he has served as a guest lecturer at the University of Minho (Department of Information Systems). He was also affiliated with the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (School of Communication, Administration, and Tourism), where he taught computer programming-related courses between 2021-2023. He has taught courses on application development (standalone and web-based), 3D modeling, and animation, among other topics in the field of Computer Science, at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro. Telmo supervised undergraduate and graduate students, including 5 supervisions of professional school students, 2 bachelor's and 7 master's. Among the most relevant ongoing supervisions are 2 doctoral orientations. In the context of the valorization of the I&D, Telmo was involved in project development and promotion, having collaborated on 20 R&D project proposals, including those accepted for co-promotion, EU projects, and agendas under the Portuguese Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR). His contributions have led to the acceptance of 2 co-promotions, participation in 4 mobilizing agendas under the PRR, acceptance of 1 EU project, and acceptance of 1 POCTEP project.

Experience
Telmo Adão é o atual coordenador de desenvolvimento CVIG (Computer Vision, Interaction and Graphics) do Centro de Computação Gráfica, Universidade do Minho, Portugal. Concluiu o doutoramento em 2015, em Computação Gráfica, no ramo da Modelação Procedimental. Acumula 10 anos de experiência de participação em projetos de I&D nas áreas da Realidade Virtual, Aumentada e Mista, técnicas procedimentais para a geração automática ou semiautomática de estruturas virtuais, Remote Sensing com recurso a veículos aéreos não-tripulados (VANTs) e Machine Learning, Processamento Digital de Imagem e Visão por Computador e IoT/Computação Distribuída no contexto da mulsemedia. O seu trabalho a nível científico estende-se às áreas da navegação outdoors, Human-Machine Interaction, Deep Learning na agricultura/floresta, push media e aplicações multimédia multipropósito. Tem experiência na implementação de aplicações móveis e desenvolvimento Web. Possuí know-how ligado ao treino e aplicação de redes neuronais para classificação e segmentação de objetos em imagem. É autor de 70 publicações científicas (em revista e conferência). Exerce funções de professor convidado na Universidade do Minho, onde leciona unidades curriculares ligadas à programação informática. Já lecionou, pela Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro, unidades curriculares de desenvolvimento de aplicações (stand-alone e para a web), modelação e animação 3D, entre outros tópicos inseridos nas áreas disciplinares da Informática.

Telmo Adão é o atual coordenador de desenvolvimento CVIG (Computer Vision, Interaction and Graphics) do Centro de Computação Gráfica, Universidade do Minho, Portugal. Concluiu o doutoramento em 2015, em Computação Gráfica, no ramo da Modelação Procedimental. Acumula 10 anos de experiência de participação em projetos de I&D nas áreas da Realidade Virtual, Aumentada e Mista, técnicas procedimentais para a geração automática ou semiautomática de estruturas virtuais, Remote Sensing com recurso a veículos aéreos não-tripulados (VANTs) e Machine Learning, Processamento Digital de Imagem e Visão por Computador e IoT/Computação Distribuída no contexto da mulsemedia. O seu trabalho a nível científico estende-se às áreas da navegação outdoors, Human-Machine Interaction, Deep Learning na agricultura/floresta, push media e aplicações multimédia multipropósito. Tem experiência na implementação de aplicações móveis e desenvolvimento Web. Possuí know-how ligado ao treino e aplicação de redes neuronais para classificação e segmentação de objetos em imagem. É autor de 70 publicações científicas (em revista e conferência). Exerce funções de professor convidado na Universidade do Minho, onde leciona unidades curriculares ligadas à programação informática. Já lecionou, pela Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro, unidades curriculares de desenvolvimento de aplicações (stand-alone e para a web), modelação e animação 3D, entre outros tópicos inseridos nas áreas disciplinares da Informática.
