Research and R&D projects 4.1 Main topics of interest • General interest in topics of Engineering and Industrial Management, namely Operational Research methodologies for Logistical systems. • Focus on Transportation Systems planning and management, and other topics related to mobility modelling (passengers and freight); Traffic simulation & analysis (EMME, AIMSUN, SATURN, DRACULA, ARCGIS, Python/R/C++). 4.2 Main R&D projects • 2014-present: several projects related to Mobility, Public Transport Planning, Traffic Simulation and Analysis. Stakeholders: Municipality of Braga (EMME3 & AIMSUN traffic simulation studies), Municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão (traffic simulation studies). • 2017-2020; Member and co-coordinator of the consultant R&D team of the project “Design ofthe public passenger transport network”, Comunidade Intermunicipal do Ave, Portugal. • 2011-2014: Coordinator and Principal Investigator of "INSTEAD - INtelligent System of Transport for Elderly And Disabled", funded by FCT (the Portuguese national funding agency for science, research and technology) and by the European Union through FEDER–“Programa Operacional Fatores de Competitividade” (POFC), FCOMP-01-0124-FEDER-016099. • 2009-2014: Member of the consultant R&D team of the project "Quadrilátero Mobilidade", study of mobility and strategic guidelines for the urban areas Barcelos, Braga, Guimarães and Famalicão, the main towns of the northwest region of Portugal. • 2012-2015: Member: "GATOP - Genetic Algorithm for Team Orienteering Problem", funded by FCT (the Portuguese national funding agency for science, research and technology) and by the European Union through FEDER–“Programa Operacional Fatores de Competitividade” (POFC). • 2009-2011: Investigator member of the project "Development of a Business Intelligence Application for Automatized Transportation Systems", funded by EFACEC. • 2008-2011: Member of Consultant Team of: Protocol Univ.
