Carlos Manuel Ferreira Alves, born on the 25th of June in Braga, is currently a PhD researcher in Informatics at the Algoritmi Center at the University of Minho, funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), and a professor at the University of Maia (UMAIA). In his early academic path, he completed the Technical Course in Management Informatics at EsproMinho, which gave him equivalence to his 12th year with an average of 15 values. During this period, he has been sub-delegated to the class several times. In his academic career, he completed the Technological Specialization Course in Development of Multimedia Products at the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave in Barcelos, with an average of 13 points. He also obtains the Pedagogical Skills Certificate, which has been successfully completed. He attended the first year of the Degree in Medical Informatics at the Higher School of Technology of the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave. He was elected Student Representative of the Escola Superior de Tecnologia on the General Council of the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave. He completed the Degree in Communication and Multimedia at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro in 2016 with an average of 15 points. Held a Master's Degree in Marketing Management at IPAM - Portuguese Institute of Administration and Marketing, in the city of Porto with the dissertation theme: The Intention to Use Augmented Reality in Electronic Commerce - The Case of IKEA Place, to which the score was attributed of 17 Values. As a researcher at the Algoritmi Center, he was previously involved in the Bosch Car Multimédia project, the Factory of the Future, and in Project NORTE 86 - Integrated and Innovative Solutions for people's well-being in complex urban centers. At UMAIA, he teaches several courses: Technological Trends and Artificial Intelligence, SCRUM Laboratories for Digital Transformation, and Seminars for Digital Transformation. On a sports level, he belonged to the school sports badminton team at the EB 2 and 3 school in Nogueira. He was also a sports dancer federated by FPDD - Portuguese Sports Dance Federation, where he represented the Ricardo Abelhas Dance Academy and the Braga Sports Dance Association, which in the Junior 2 Initiate category won the 3rd place title in the Portuguese Cup, 4th place in the National Ranking and 5th place in the National Championship. He has already represented Portugal in some international championships. In social causes, he cooperated with the Food Bank Against Hunger. He interned at two computer companies, Inforlink and Deltabyte, both in Braga. At a professional level, he worked as public relations, as a marketeer in several companies and as a trainer in the areas of marketing and information technology. His current academic role at the University of Maia allows him to combine his extensive technological expertise with his pedagogical skills, preparing the next generation of professionals for the challenges of digital transformation. His teaching methodology in SCRUM Laboratories, the course of Technological Trends and Artificial Intelligence, and Digital Transformation Seminars incorporates both theoretical knowledge and practical experience from both business and industrial sectors, providing students with applications of emerging technologies in real-world contexts, such as Augmented Reality and Spatial Computing.
