0About Me
Vitor Correia is a Junior Researcher in the Algoritmi Research Unit at University of Minho. From 2015 to 2020, he was also a Visiting Assistant Professor at the same university. He finished the PhD in Electronic Engineering and Computers in 2013 at the University of Minho, and the Master Degree in Electronic and Industrial Engineering (specialization in Instrumentation and micro systems) in 2008 by the same University, where he received 2 merit awards for the best student of the course. His research focuses on the electronic bio-devices for cell culture and printed electronics in the subareas of nano-sensors, nano actuators, bio-sensores and data communication system. During her professional activities, he interacted with 83 co-authors in scientific publications. He published 57 papers in international peer reviewed journals (SCOPUS), 1 book chapters, 9 papers as proceedings of scientific meetings, 3 granted Portuguese Patent and 2 granted international Patent (1 more provisional USA Patent submitted), having more than 1250 citations and h-index: 21. He has several stays in internationally renowned center: (CETEMMSA, Technische Universität Chemnitz, Fraunhofer Institute for Electronic Nano Systems, UPV - Centro de Biomateriales e Ingeniería Tisular (CBIT) and BCMaterials), corresponding to more than 1.5 years of international stay. He is University of Minho Principal Investigator at Project: Clumose – Clutch-brake condition monitoring smart sensor, POCI-01-0247-FEDER-042535, and having been PI in 3 projects already completed participating in 8 more projects with researcher. He supervised 2 PhD and 9 MSc. students (8 of them finalized). Her technology transfer allowed to create 3 spinoffs (Somatica, Materials & Solutions, lda, Nano Paint, lda, Wise4autonmation, LDA and has received 2 distinctions. He was guest editor of two special issues at Materials Journal, and American Ceramic Society. Vitor Correia has more than 390 h of teaching experience at the Dept. Industrial Electronics, University of Minho.
